Matt played his high school baseball in North Kingstown, Rhode Island at North Kingstown High School. A four year varsity player and 3 year starter as a catcher he was a 2002 All-Division Second Team and a 2003 All-Division First Team player.

Out of high school Matt enrolled at Franklin Pierce College for 1 year, after red shirting that year he transferred to Western New England College in Springfield, MA. While at WNEC where he continued to catch, he was a part of two Conference Champions.

 

In 2006  his junior year the Golden Bears went 35-12 and reached as high as Number 9 in the national rankings, as well as won the GNAC Conference regular season and tournament championship and participated in the NCAA Division III New England Regional placing in 3rd place after bowing out to National Runner-up Wheaton College.

In 2007 WNEC won the GNAC Conference Championship as well as participated in the NCAA Division III New England Regional again finishing in 5th place.

After college Matt continue to stay in baseball working Full Time at Pro-Prospects Training Center a baseball facility in Monticello, NY and then Extra Innings-Auburn in Auburn, MA, focusing on catching and hitting lessons. In the summer of 2009 Matt was the head coach of the 16u North East Jays. From 2012-2018 He was the coach of the 18u North East Baseball Mudhens having finished multiple summer with a national ranked team. In 2020 he coached the 15u NEB Pirates-Gold and starting in the 2021 summer is the head coach of the 17u NEB Americans 

Matt earned his Bachelor Degree in Communications. He currently resides in Auburn, MA.
