North East Baseball Adds Coaches from Near and Far

North East Baseball is excited to announce the addition of Matt Petherick and Mike Turchan to their summer coaching staff.

Coach Petherick will be the new Head Coach of the 16u Jays. Matt is also the head coach of Milton Academy where he was 2009 ISL Coach of the Year. He was also the head coach at Nipmuc Regional HS for 3 years leading the team to the state tournament each of his 3 years. Coach Petherick played college baseball at Brandeis University and was 4 year Varsity member and made 4 NCAA Tournament Apperances including a trip to the 1999 Division III College World Series. Matt Kruger who has coached the 16u Jays the last 3 years will be taking the 18u Mudhens.

Coach Mike Turchan will be the 2012 17u Lumberjacks coach. Mike is joining the staff from Atlanta, GA where he is the pitching coach at North Cobb High School, he was also the Head Coach of the 2009 17u East Cobb Shamrocks. Coach Turchan also has coached at the college level at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio where he also played his college baseball.

Both coaches will add extensive coaching knowledge to the NEB Staff and continue to help our kids get to their ultimate goal which is to play college baseball
