North East Baseball Alumni Having Success At The Collegiate Level

With the 2012 College Baseball season underway, North East Baseball has players that are performing at a high level all across Division I, II and III.

From the Class of 2009 Elon University Ace Dylan Clark (2009 NE Mudhen) is off to a fast start going 5-1 with a 1.26 ERA in 6 appearances (5 starts). Fellow teammate on the 2009 Mudhens, Sahil Bloom has an equally impressive 1.74 ERA working out of the bullpen for Stanford. Mike Fransoso (Portsmouth, NH) is coming off a Sophomore season in which he was named to the America East Second Team and is currently a Captain as a Junior of this years Main Black Bear team. Chris King (Portsmouth, RI) is having a tremendous all around season at Louisburg College in North Carolina, he is hitting .337 with 4 Home Runs and 32 RBI, in 30 games for the Hurricanes who are currently 28-3 and #1 in the country in NJCAA.

NEB's Class of 2010 has shown success at some of the top baseball schools in the country. Mike Montville has become U of Maryland's starting Leftfielder and will also be playing in the Cape Cod Collegiate League this summer. His former High School and NE Rays teammate Nate Jones has become a top pitcher in the Wake Forest bullpen compiling a 1.96 ERA in 9 apperences this season out of the bullpen. Gavin Patton who played on the Rays and Mudhens as well is currently playing everyday at Pensicola (FL) State College and is leading the country (NJAA) in RBI's.

From the class of 2011 Andrew Green has already started to make his mark at the collegiate level registering a win and a save in the first week of his collegiate career at Franklin & Marshall in Pennslyvania. Erik Jacobsen is also off to an impressive start in his Freshman season at Bowdoin (ME) College, he is hitting .474 through the first 8 games of the year.
