Rays Advance to the Sweet 16 in 17u WWBA Championships

The North East Baseball Rays had their best finish in the 17u WWBA Championships this year in East Cobb, GA making it all the way to the Sweet 16 of the event which had over 200 teams participate in.

The Rays won their pool by going 5-0-2 and were led by their whole pitching staff on the mound giving up only a average of 3 runs per game for the week. In the first round of the playoffs the Rays beat Yak Baseball West 6-3. In the Sweet 16 they matched up with eventual Final 4 participant Columbia Angels 17u, and lost 3-2 on a walk off single in the Bottom of the 7th.

All 3 of the NEB Oldest teams had great success  the week before in the 18u WWBA Championship as well. The Lumberjacks going 5-1-1, Mudhens 4-1-2 and Rays 4-1-2.
