Last week the North East Baseball Mudhens advanced to the 18u WWBA Championship playoff round. Out of 190 teams in the tournament the Mudhens advanced to the round of 24 and were seed 16 heading into the playoff round. After going 5-1 going through a tough pool which consisted of strong programs such as Team Elite, SEB Tigers Baseball, and A. Green Baseball the Mudhens were able to get a Top 16 seed based on only giving up 10 runs through out those 6 games. Unfortunatly just as the playoffs were going to begin Georgia got hammered with rain forcing the playoff round to be cancelled.

Much of the core group of the 2013 Mudhens were part of the 2012 17u Rays who advanced to the Round of 16 at the 2012 17u WWBA Championships. We are extremly proud of all players that participated on the team and below is a list of the players (along with their college commitment) who were on both squads advancing to the playoff round:

Brendan King (Holy Cross)

Jake Marotta (Bryant)

Mike Kinch (St. Joesph's of Maine)

Trevor Holmes (UConn)

Zach Perry (Northeastern)

Jake Willsey (Tulane)

Mike Robert (S. New Hampshire U)

John Russolillo (Babson)

Vinny Wnukowski (Union College TN)
