Scorpions Baseball wins 18u NEB Invitational. Event draws over 40 Colleges

Finishing up a 6-0 weekend Scorpions Baseball took home the 2014 18u NEB Invitational title with a 3-1 win over the North East Baseball Rays. After going 4-0 in pool play the Scorpions Pool F winners were matched up in the Semi-Finals with Pool E winners Connecticut Grind. The Scorpions won that game 5-4 in the other Semi-Final The North East Baseball Rays beat Boston Jr. Rams 13-0 to advance to the finals. The Rays won pool A and the Jr. Rams came out of Pool C. The 2 other pool winners were Connecticut Capitals who went 4-0 and won Pool B and Baseball U NE-Orange who won Pool D with a 4-0 record. Unfortunatly due to school still being in session were unable to participate in the playoffs.

The number one reason why this event is put on is to try and attract as many colleges as possible and get players exposed to those schools. This years event brought in more than 40 college coaches from all over the region. Below is a list of the colleges which were in attendance:

Liberty, Babson, Bryant, Siena, Faifield, Hamilton, UMass-Boston, Nichols College, Northeastern, St. Leo, Bowdoin, Mitchell College, Southern Connecticut State, Holy Cross, Dean Jr. College, Western New England Univ, URI, St. John's, Worcester State Univ, Fitchburg State Univ, Fordham, Penn, Brown, Boston College,  Bates, Harvard, Gordon College, Tufts, Westfield State Univ, Salve Regina, Colby, St. Joesph's of Maine, Maine, Stony Brook, Wheaton, Eastern Connecticut State, WPI, Curry, Assumption College, UMass-Lowell, Southern New Hampshire Univ, St. Michael's, Merrimack, Lesley, Brandeis, Endicott.
