18u NEB Invitational Attracts College Coaches From All Over East Coast

Quickly becoming on of the most highly recruited event in the Northeast the 18u NEB Invitational did not disappoint again this year. 

Featuring 37 teams from all over the Northeast as well as far away as Florida, this allowed for college coaches to recruit players from all over the region. Competition started on Friday Night at the New England Baseball Complex, and went all the way through Sunday Night. After the games were done there were 7 Pool Winners: North East Baseball Rays, Evoshield Canes Northeast 2017s, North East Baseball Mudhens, Team Boston Commits 18u, North East Baseball Jays, East Coast Sand Hogs 17u Elite, and Adirondack Heat. 

In the first round of the playoffs NEB Mudhens snuck by Team Boston Commits 2-1, Heat beat the Sand Hogs 8-1 and what might have been the game of the tournament the Canes beat NEB Jays 6-3 in 11 innings. In the Semi-Finals NEB Rays beat Evoshield 7-6 and NEB Mudhens beat Sand Hogs 5-2. The Championship game ended in a 1-1 tie with both the Mudhens and Rays running out of pitching and agreeing to a tie. 

Below is a list of the college coaches in attendance: URI, Northeastern, Albany, Campbell, Elon, Indiana State, Liberty, Quinnipiac, Hartford, UConn, Holy Cross, Southern NH Univ, Franklin Pierce, Merrimack College, Bryant, Nichols College, Salve Regina, Western New England Univ, Eastern CT State, Monmouth, UMass-Lowell, Stony Brook, Tufts, William and Mary, Eastern Nazarene College. Maine, Worcester State University, Wheaton, Bowdoin, Northern Middlsex CC, Dartmouth, Keystone College, Siena, UMass-Amherst, Fairfield as well as many more.
