CT Blue Jays 18u win NEB End of Summer Classic

After a Sunday that featured rain as well as 3 games for both the CT Blue Jays and East Coast Clippers-Gold, the Blue Jays prevailed 4-0 in the Championship game of the 18u North East Baseball End of Summer Classic. 

This years event the biggest one yet saw 40 teams come to Boston, Massachusetts and the surrounding area for the 3 day event. Pool play was played all day Friday and the morning on Saturday. After pool play concluded the 10 pool winners advanced to the playoff round.

Seeds 7 vs. 10 saw Nokona 18u beat Seacoast United 5-1 and Seeds 8 vs. 9 saw Nokona 17u beat CT Blue Jays 17u 5-1, to advance to the Quarterfinal round on Sunday. 

On a wet Sunday at UMass Boston. The day started out with #4 seed East Coast Clippers-Gold beat #5 Seed Team CT Baseball 6-0, #6 NE Stampede upset #3 seed Maine Lightning-Showcase 2-1, #2 seed CT Blue Jays 18u beat #7 seed Nokona 18u 2-1 and #1 Seed NEB Mudhens beat #8 Nokona 17u 1-0. 

In order to get to the championships East Coast Clippers beat the NEB Mudhens 3-0 and the CT Blue Jays 18u beat NE Stampede 2-1 in 8 innings on a walk off squeeze.
