17u North East Jaxx and North East Rays won their pool in this week's Northeast Prospect Tournament held in Worcester, MA.  Both teams will begin playoff rounds on Saturday until one is crowned champion. 

In the playoff round on Saturday the North East Lumberjacks fell to the USA Mavericks in the first round 8-3. The North East Rays then defeated the Mavericks 5-4 to advance to the championship game where they defeated the Rhode Island Rebels.

The Rays' Championship marks the second year a North East Baseball team has won the Northeast Prospect Select Championship. In 2010 the North East Mudhens were crowned champions.
